Large deployment in Hamburg: Fire in the Marienkrankenhaus demands life!
In the night of June 1, 2025, the Hamburg fire brigade was alerted to a devastating fire in the Marienkrankenhaus in Hohenfelde. At 0:23 a.m., fire broke out in a patient room on the ground floor, which quickly got out of control and pulled up the outer facade. Numerous patients on the upper floors were in acute danger due to dense smoke, while they called for help on the windows.
The fire brigade arrived with four fire trucks and a large contingent of around 220 emergency services in order to initiate the evacuation by turntable ladders and portable ladders. The situation was particularly dramatic for the elderly and restricted mobility who had to be saved from their rooms. A total of 36 people were injured in the hustle and bustle - including 18 and 15 light. Unfortunately, three people died at the site. The emergency services worked until the early hours of the morning to extinguish the fire and take care of the injured.
