Big kitchen fire in high -rise: residents saves themselves!

A dramatic kitchen fire in a high -rise in Leopoldshafen has badly damaged an apartment and ensured a great fire brigade. The 22-year-old resident was able to save himself in time, but had to be treated on site due to flue gas intoxication and then taken to the hospital.

When the fire brigade arrived, thick smoke came out of the ground floor apartment, which significantly impaired the view. Despite these challenges, the 61 emergency services managed to quickly control the fire and prevent further spread. The apartment is now uninhabitable and the community takes care of the accommodation of the people concerned. The local firefighters received support from units from nearby communities and the kit.

Three ambulances, an emergency doctor and several police officers were also on duty, while the DRK readiness supplied the emergency services with drinks. So far, there is no information on the cause of the fire and the total amount of damage.
