The Mönchengladbach fire brigade was called to a basement fire in Fringsstrasse in the Westend district in Fringsstrasse. According to initial knowledge, the fire was triggered by a technical defect in a washing machine. The emergency services were quickly on site and were able to successfully prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the building.

There were numerous fire brigade units, including the fire and rescue station II (HOLT) fire and rescue engine, a fire truck of the guard I (new works), as well as specialized rescue teams and the police. Fortunately, thanks to the quick intervention, there were greater damage.
