Warehouse fire in Zwiedorf: 700 straw bales in flames!

In a dramatic operation, the fire brigade and police were called to a major fire in a warehouse of an agricultural company near Zwiedorf on June 3, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. The approximately 900 square meter hall was already in full fire and housed around 600 to 700 straw bales, while a photovoltaic system was mounted on the roof. A total of 111 firefighters from 14 volunteer fire departments in the area fought against the flames.

The fire brigade announced that the extinguishing work will continue until the morning hours of June 4, which leads to the full closure of the L273 between Ivenack and Zwiedorf. The cause of the fire is currently unclear and after the extinguishing work has been completed, the criminal police will start the investigation. Fortunately, no people were injured, but the damage is estimated at least 350,000 euros.
