Pure joie de vivre: THW youth brings 800 participants to Sörup!

Sörup, Deutschland - From June 6th to 9th, 2025, Sörup turned into a pulsating center of THW youth! In a spectacular international camp, over 800 participants from 46 groups of the THW state association Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Schleswig-Holstein came together. Despite rainy weather, the young people experienced four days with exciting challenges, creativity and team spirit. The camp was opened by top-class guests, including Dierk Hansen, Vice President of the THW, and several politicians who wanted to experience the sacrificing work of the THW youth.

The participants had the opportunity to take part in a variety of workshops, including creative activities such as fabric painting and plaster masking, and technical training, e.g. via cranes. Also joint exercises with the Sörup fire brigade were on the program. The campaigns planned for the camp classic, the camp Olympics had to be canceled due to the weather, but a spontaneous rain dance still provided plenty of entertainment! Thanks to the financial support of the THW helper association Schleswig-Holstein and many committed volunteer, this extraordinary event became an unforgettable experience for everyone involved
