More security for children on traffic: police take stock!

Sonnenstraße, Reutlingen, Deutschland - On June 3, 2025, the nationwide action day "Safe.mobil.leben" took place, in which the Reutlingen police, together with the administrative authorities, had an eye on traffic safety for children. During the day, which lasted from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., numerous violations were documented: over 40 drivers were distracted by mobile phone use, and in almost 50 cases, seat belts were not correct or child seats were missing. In addition, more than 60 vehicles parked in an orderly in school and kindergarten areas, which is potentially dangerous for children. The ability to drive was not given for four drivers due to drug use.

In another incident, there was a fire in a school on Sonnenstrasse on Wednesday morning, triggered by a lit toilet paper roll. Thanks to the rapid reaction of a school attendant, the fire could be deleted before the fire brigade arrived without hurt. The property damage is around 500 euros. Between Tuesday and Wednesday, a technical building on Carl-Zeiss-Straße was stolen 15 meters of copper pipes and rain channels, causing damage of around 1,500 euros. The police initiated the investigation.
