Rush ends spectacular: Audi overturns in the field!

In the early morning hours on Saturday, at 04:15 a.m., the police in Weimar reported a spectacular accident on the B7 near Umferstedt. An Audi had lost control, got out of the road and was finally on a field. The fire brigade and emergency services hurried to the scene of the accident and saved the 29-year-old driver out of the vehicle. The miracle: the man only suffered minor injuries.

The course of the accident is dramatic: the Audi was on the B7 from Frankendorf towards Umferstedt. About 500 meters in front of the town, the driver initially got on the opposite lane. In a desperate attempt to stabilize the vehicle, he steered too much to the right, lost control and overturned several times before he came to lie in a ditch. The property damage amounts to around 6,000 euros. A breath alcohol test on site showed terrifying 1.57 per thousand, and a rapid drug test also demonstrated the influence of further intoxicating means. Consequence: Police confiscated the driver's license and filed a complaint for drunkenness at the wheel.
