Fast intervention: Great fire in Wuppertaler apartment building deleted!

In the early evening there was a fire in an apartment building in Gosenburg, Wuppertal. The fire brigade was alerted around 7:30 p.m. and when it arrived it turned out that a fire had broken out in the basement of the building. A respiratory protection squad was used for fire fighting immediately, while another squad checked the smoky staircase. Four people could be saved via the aerial ladder, with a smoke protection curtain and targeted fans contributed significantly to the quick smoke release of the staircase.

The emergency services, including the extinguishing train Barmen and support from Elberfeld, localized and deleted the fire quickly. Nobody was injured, but the building is now uninhabitable. The residents had to be accommodated with friends at short notice, while a person was placed in accommodation by the city. The cause of the fire is still unclear and is determined by the police. The entire duration was about two hours.
