On Saturday, May 31, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred between the Rottenburg and Herrenberg junctions at 2:00 p.m. on Autobahn 81 in the direction of Stuttgart. A 50-year-old motorcyclist with his Kawasaki Ninja raced onto a Ford Fiesta who was driven by a 44-year-old. The impact was so violent that the biker fell and serious injuries.

The emergency services immediately took the uninjured motorcyclist to a hospital. The driver of the Ford Fiesta and his 33-year-old passenger, on the other hand, only suffered minor injuries. In addition, the fire brigade had to move to eliminate leaking operating fluids. The total damage to both vehicles amounts to around 25,000 euros.
