Pupils in dialogue with the police: promote respect and understanding!
Hadamar, Deutschland - On May 23, 2025, the second event of the series "Cops in the Dialogue-Police and School in Exchange" took place at the Fürst-Johann-Ludwig School in Hadamar. Around 100 students in grades 8 and 9 experienced an informative session, which was moderated by the youth coordinator Bärbel Rogée. Police Councilor Paul Baier, deputy head of the Limburg-Weilburg police department, explained the challenges and dangers with which the police are confronted every day based on relevant case studies.
In addition to informative lectures, the event also offered an open exchange in which students were able to ask questions about the work of the police. The feedback indicated a growing understanding and interest in the tasks of the emergency services. For the Hessian state government, the promotion of respect and appreciation for the police, fire brigade and emergency services is one of the priorities, which was anchored in the respect package of 2024. Every year these dialogue formats are organized at schools in Hesse to bring the role of security forces closer to the legal system.
