In the early afternoon there was a terrible traffic accident on the L140 between Mittelnkirchen and Jork! A 49-year-old motorcyclist from Hamburg, who was traveling with her Suzuki SV650, lost control for the cause of the reason that has so far been unexplained and raced onto the opposite lane. There she crashed head-on into an oncoming VW Touareg, whose driver is 29 years old and comes from Harsefeld.

The consequences were devastating: the woman suffered the serious injuries and had to be flown to the hospital in Hamburg with a rescue helicopter after the first aid on site! The Mittelnkirchen fire brigade was quickly on hand, secured the scene of the accident and helped with diversions, while the L140 was temporarily completely closed. Road users had to adjust to light traffic jams and diversions. Photos of the incident were published by the police to spread further information.
