Serious accident on A48: minibus overturns - nine people affected!

In the night of May 25, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred on the A48 near Bassenheim, district of Mayen-Koblenz. At around 3 a.m., a minibus occupied by nine people, who returned from a family celebration in Hesse, came away from the road for an unknown cause and overturned several times. According to the police, the 22-year-old driver is not under the influence of alcohol or drugs, so corresponding speculations are rejected.

The A48 was closed in the direction of Trier until around 7.45 a.m. to carry out the operational measures.
