Serious accident on BAB 81: Drunk driver clamped!

A serious traffic accident on the federal highway 81 near Ludwigsburg on Monday evening has dramatic consequences: A 33-year-old driver of a small van was seriously injured. The incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. when the man drove on the right lane towards Stuttgart and overlooked a saddle tray while changing on the temporary side strip.

The impact was violent: the van crashed against the rear of the truck, hurled across the road and crashed into the middle course plank. The fire brigade and emergency services had to free the driver from his vehicle. During the accident, the police discovered signs of alcohol influence, which is why the man had to endure a blood sample and his driver's license was confiscated. The property damage amounts to around 38,000 euros, and the highway had to be partially closed for almost two hours.
