Serious accident in Schaag: driver and passenger fight for survival

On Friday afternoon, a dramatic accident occurred on Kindter Straße in Schaag, in which a 70-year-old driver from Nettetal and his 69-year-old passenger from Viersen were seriously injured. The man was in the direction of the Happelter when he apparently misjudged the distances to a parked car and crashed it. The consequence: his vehicle tipped over to the side and the driver was caught in his car.

The fire brigade had to intervene quickly to free the injured driver. Both occupants were immediately transported to nearby hospitals. A first aider who hurried to help suffered slight bruises in the rescue measures, but did not require any further medical treatment. Due to the accident recording, Kindter Straße remained closed until the incident was clarified.
