Stau drama on A81: Injured driver after violent crash!

On Wednesday morning (June 11th, 2025) there was a dramatic traffic accident on the Bundesautobahn 81 in the direction of Stuttgart, which caused a long traffic jam of around 10 km. Shortly after 7:00 a.m., a 36-year-old Fiat Ducato driver overlooked the end of the congestion in front of the Engelberg tunnel and crashed into the rear of a semitrailer with full force. The consequences were devastating: the driver was caught in his vehicle and had to be freed by the fire brigade. Despite his minor injuries, he was immediately taken to the hospital.

The accident recording and the subsequent cleanup led to a blocking of the right and medium lane for about an hour and a half. The property damage amounts to around 45,000 euros, and both vehicles were no longer ready to drive and had to be towed. In addition, a passenger of a passing car had to expect a criminal complaint because he was unauthorized by the rescue measures of the injured driver.
