Theory meets practice: Cologne students learn from the Dinslaken fire brigade!

On June 3, 2025, six students from the Cologne University of Technology attended the Dinslaken fire brigade to gain practical insights into the emergency rescue. At an exciting specialist lecture, Christian Weber and Jan van Kamp explained how tendering processes work in practice. The prospective rescue engineers had the opportunity to combine their theoretical knowledge with real experiences in procurement.

After the lecture, we went on an exclusive tour of the fire station, where the prospective specialists were able to experience the emergency vehicles and equipment up close. Occupational material from the tenders discussed helped the students to bring the theory to life and to establish a direct connection to their future profession. An exciting day that impressively beat the bridge between theory and practice!
