On Saturday evening there was a tragic traffic accident on Kempener Straße in Tönisvorst-Vorst, in which a 58-year-old driver lost his life. The man had strayed from the street with his vehicle and crashed into a tree. The car was caught between a tree and a fence, which presented the rescue workers of the volunteer fire brigade with a challenge.

Despite the fast alarm and the rescue measures initiated immediately by the fire brigade and the emergency services, the accident driver still had to die at the site. The fire brigade then secured the scene of the accident and prevented fire threats and the expiry of operating substances.
