Storm chaos in Schwalmtal: Fire brigade fights for 13 missions!

violent heavy rain and stormy thunderstorms held the fire brigade Schwalmtal on Saturday evening, May 31, in suspense! Between 5:21 p.m. and 1:50 a.m., the fire brigade had to cope with a total of 13 missions in the municipal area, especially in the districts of Amern, Waldniel, Leloh and Linde. The first alarm sounded due to an oil track on the L372, followed by a flood on emergency calls over fully run basement and flooded roads.

A cellar was reported in Waldniel at 9:12 p.m. The emergency services reacted with impressive speed, pumped water and freed roads from mud and flooded areas. At 10:15 p.m., a larger effort was reported in Linde, where the fire brigade cleaned a heavily dirty road. The last mission was in Rüsgen, where stones were flushed onto the road through the heavy rain. After more than eight hours in use, all 13 jobs were successfully processed, and the best: there were no personal injury!
