Storm chaos in Worms: Fire brigade fights against water -flooded basement!

In the early evening, violent storms transformed into raging rivers over the districts of Alzey-Worms and the city of Worms! Heavy rain led to the fact that basement flooded, the gully lid were lifted out and the streets were impassable at short notice. In the Association of Monsheim, 65 members of the volunteer fire brigade were in constant use until evening to pump water from affected cellars and lower areas and to restore the safety in road traffic.

In Worms itself, the emergency services reported about 80 smaller inserts due to the extreme rain, which also put two large warehouses under water. The 75 volunteers and full -time firefighters continue to work at various areas of equipment to fix the damage and to control the situation. A fight against the water masses that are far from over!
