On Tuesday, there was an exceptional increase in traffic accidents in Solingen. The fire brigade and the emergency services had to deploy a total of eight times, which led to considerable traffic disruptions. Particularly alarming: From 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., four accidents occurred practically simultaneously in the urban area.

In total, the emergency services count five accidents with cyclists and pedestrians as well as three other collisions between motor vehicles. Some streets were closed during the rescue operations, which made the situation more difficult for drivers.
