Research meets the police: insights into relevant projects of PA Niedersachsen
On June 3, 2025, the day of research by the Lower Saxony Police Academy took place in the Hanover Central Police Directorate. Around 90 participants, including police officers from all over Lower Saxony and guests from various research institutions, met to discuss central police research issues. The director of the police academy, Carsten Rose, and Dr. Astrid Jacobsen, deputy head of the Institute for Crime and Security Research, welcomed those present.
Six professors from the police academy presented varied topics that ranged from youth violence and corruption prevention to digital threats and anti -Semitism. The subsequent discussions illustrated how important scientific knowledge is for daily police work. Dr. Jacobsen emphasized the importance of direct exchange between research and practice, which opens up new perspectives for the challenges of police work.
