Frankfurt discusses: fire brigade and mobility transition hand in hand!
Frankfurt am Main, Deutschland - On May 20 and 21, the first symposium of the Frankfurt fire brigade took place on the subject of "Mobility turnaround - challenges and innovative solutions" in the fire department's rooms. The aim was to develop concrete solutions for the challenges of urban mobility. Department Annette Rinn emphasized that changes also have opportunities while her colleague Wolfgang Siefert presented the Mobility Master Plan, who is supposed to create more space for pedestrians and cyclists.
The event also devoted itself to the conflicts of goals between emergency operations and traffic planning. Jonas Schwering and Jan-Steffen Hoffmann from the fire directorate pointed out how crucial it is to take the interests of the fire brigade more into account in urban regulations. "Mobility and security must not be a contradiction," concluded Schwering and emphasized the importance of the symposium for a future -proof and resilient city.
