Peace demonstrations in St. Wendel: Protests without major disorders

On Saturday, May 31, 2025, around 75 participants gathered for the demonstration "Peace, Freedom of Opinion, Democracy" in St. Wendel. In the meantime, around 100 people protested against right -wing extremism. Another event, the "picnic of the diversity" in the city park, also attracted up to 100 participants. It was striking that the numbers of the gathered remained significantly behind the expectations.

The meeting was largely peaceful, but one participant showed the "Hitler greeting", which resulted in criminal proceedings. Meanwhile, some participants in the counter -event tried to disturb the elevator, but this could be kept under control by the police. At the end of the event at around 3:30 p.m., the final rally on the Rezé-Platz was ended, and the participants dissolved. The parallel events, including a motorsport event and a flea market, did not lead to any significant traffic disruptions.
