Change of management with the police: Warnecke says goodbye to Salzgitter

The police vice president Uwe Lange said goodbye to the long -time police inspector Volker Warnecke on May 27, 2025 in Salzgitter. Over 80 guests from politics, business and the police authorities took part in the solemn ceremony. Warnecke, who has headed the Salzgitter/Peine/Wolfenbüttel police inspection since 2017 and led over 650 employees, looks back at almost 44 years of service and is now handing over his position to the criminal director Imke Krysta.

In his farewell speech, Warnecke expressed how enriching his time was as a head of office and emphasized the fulfillment that he drawn from the daily police work. Mayor Frank Klingebiel praised Warnecke for his valuable contribution to local security and said that the cooperation was a great enrichment in difficult times. According to police vice president Uwe Lange, the Salzgitter/Peine/Wolfenbüttel police inspection is also in good hands under the new management.
