Ostritz, Deutschland - The federal police arrested a total of 15 migrants in the border triangle in Poland and the Czech Republic on a weekend in the border triangle, which illegally crossed the border. During a check on May 31, 2025 in Ostritz, five Somali young people aged 15 to 17 were discovered. Just a day later, on June 1, 2025, a Palestinian family was taken up in Ebersbach, consisting of a 38-year-old father, his 36-year-old wife and six children between the ages of 7 and 19. This family had been brought to the border by an unknown smuggler from Prague.

In the early morning of June 2, 2025, a 31-year-old Ukrainian was arrested, who transported a 30-year-old compatriot without a visa via the border crossing Ebersbach-Jirikov to Germany. The German-Czech investigators have stopped him and the woman. The arrests underline the ongoing challenges and risks related to illegal migration in this border region.
