Border crossing Iffezheim: Massive controls against crime and drugs!

On Tuesday, a large-scale control was carried out at the Iffezheim border crossing as part of the security cooperation between Rhineland-Palatinate and Baden-Württemberg. The emergency services- including the Bühl transport service office, the State Police Rhineland-Palatinate, Gendarmerie Nationale and the Federal Police- focused on combating cross-border crime, drug and property crime as well as the driving ability of road users.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., over 100 vehicles and around 150 people were checked. The officers registered a total of 18 administrative offenses. In addition, 14 criminal proceedings were initiated, among other things because of driving without a license and violations of the Residence Act and the Narcotics Act. Control illustrates the determination of the authorities to increase security in the region and to combat crime.
