Great fire in an uninhabited house in Sprockhövel: Fire brigade in action!

On Saturday evening, shortly after 8 p.m., the Sprockhövel fire brigade was alerted to a massive fire in a house on Bochumer Strasse. Flames hit a window on the first floor when the emergency services arrived. Fortunately, the building was uninhabited at the time of the fire, so that no people were injured. With over five troops under heavy breathing protection, the firefighters managed to prevent the fire from spreading to the roof structure.

A total of 41 members of the Sprockhövel volunteer fire brigade were deployed with twelve vehicles, supported by emergency services and police. For logistical support, the district fire brigade center brought additional respiratory protection devices to the site. Bochumer Straße and Bergstrasse were completely closed during the mission, the assignment was over at 10 p.m. The criminal police are now examining the cause of the fire.
