on Saturday evening, June 7, 2025, a room fire broke out in an apartment building on Solinger Strasse in Remscheid. The fire brigade was alerted at 6:54 p.m. and arrived at the scene with 34 emergency services, where it found a strong smoke development from the first floor. Immediate measures were taken to control the situation.

Two people, including the residents of the affected apartment and a neighbor, were taken to the hospital due to suspicion of flue gas intoxication. The fire brigade ended at 8:45 p.m., while Solinger Straße had to be completely blocked for some time so as not to hinder the emergency services in their work.
