Big fire in St. Pauli: Reeperbahn closed for hours!

in Hamburg-St. Pauli led to a dramatic apartment fire on the second floor of a building on the Reeperbahn on May 26, 2025 at 10:08 p.m. Witnesses immediately chose the emergency call, which led to a quick evacuation of all residents. Eleven people were accommodated in emergency accommodation, while the crisis intervention team of the German Red Cross took over psychosocial care.

The Reeperbahn was closed until around 2:00 a.m. during the extinguishing work between Hein-Hoyer-Straße and Millerntorplatz. The affected upper floor is currently considered uninhabitable. Investigations into the cause of the fire are underway.
