Hamburg's traffic chaos: 10,000 violations in May-police are alarm!

In May 2025, the Hamburg police carried out extensive traffic controls, in which over 570 controls took place. In these, more than 3,000 people and almost 4,100 vehicles were checked. The balance sheet is alarming: 21 drivers were under the influence of alcohol, 14 under drugs, while 35 were without a license. In addition, there were 10,266 administrative offenses in the dormant traffic and numerous violations of traffic rules, including 190 cases of contrary mobile use and 165 displacements of red traffic lights.

Over 310 reports of defects were issued and the police ordered 35 blood sample withdrawals. For the coming month, the police are planning to concentrate particularly on violations under the influence of exhilarating funds and in the future on disadvantage red traffic lights. The security on Hamburg's streets remains the top priority.
