Marktplatz, 27711 Osterholz-Scharmbeck, Deutschland - On Sunday morning, three duck chicks provided a surprising spectacle in Osterholz-Scharmbeck when they fell into a rainwater canal through a grate. Passers -by heard the desperate calls of the chicks and alerted the fire brigade at 10:53 a.m. Within almost two hours, the emergency services mobilized all available funds to save the small ripplers.

Thanks to the support of a municipal utility employee, the firefighters were able to penetrate around 35 meters deep into the sewer system with a camera. While one of the chicks could be caught quickly, the last sibling had a pronounced will to survive and was initially not captured. Finally, the rescuers became creative and carefully washed the canal, which ultimately led to the rescue of the third chick. All three young ducks were handed over to their concerned mother happy and healthy. So this animal emergency ended with a happy reunion!
