Hessian police starts large traffic safety campaign for children!
On Tuesday, June 3, 2025, the Hessian police were part of a large traffic safety campaign under the motto "Safe.Mobil.leben - Kinder Awhim". The aim of the initiative was to improve the safety in road traffic and to protect weaker road users like children. In order to reduce traffic accidents, 295 police officers nationwide in collaboration with security partners at 112 locations, including schools, daycare centers and retirement homes.
As part of the campaign, 2,697 vehicles were checked, of which 251 were checked before day care centers and 2,200 in front of schools. 975 rule violations were found, including speed violations and cell phone use at the wheel. A special highlight was the "Blitz for Kids" campaign in Frankfurt, in which children presented maps to the road users to evaluate their behavior. The police completed the control with a positive balance, since many road users could be made aware of dangers that are often overlooked.
