Internet love as a trap: 63-year-old loses thousands of fraudsters

Kreis Kaiserslautern, Deutschland - A 63-year-old man from the Kaiserslautern district fell for a fraudster and filed a complaint to the police. He had met the unknown online, who quickly built up a relationship of trust. She promised him a car, which, however, supposedly stuck at customs, which led to several money claims. Ultimately, the man transferred a five -digit amount before he became suspicious and informed the police.

The West Palatinate police urgently warns of internet acquaintances that demand money. This type of fraud, known as "scamming", is widespread and often uses emotional manipulation to win over victims. The case of the Kaiserslauterer shows how important it is to be careful and not make any advance payments to unknown people.
