Young people arrested: Adventure in the blocked railway tunnel ends in prison!

On Sunday, June 1, 2025, a 16-year-old man from Mannheim was caught by the police in locked train tunnels near the town hall center. An employee of Rhein-Neckar-Verkehr GmbH discovered the teenager together with others who explored the dark tunnels with flashlights. When the police officers arrived, the young person pulled a telescopic punch out of his pocket, which caused the officials to threaten the use of a taser. Then he was captivated without resistance.

The young person said that he wanted to explore a “Lost Place” with friends. Although the tunnels were thoroughly searched by the police and employees of the RNV, his two companions could not be found. Criminal proceedings for trespassing were opened against the 16-year-old and his known companions. In addition, due to the violation of the weapons law, it now looks legally uncomfortable.
