Jewel robbery in Freiburg: Brave witness convicts perpetrators!

On Friday, May 30, 2025, a brazen jewelry theft at the sales stand at Rotteckring in Freiburg occurred around 5:40 p.m. A 29-year-old man grabbed the valuable piece of jewelry. But an attentive witness immediately jumped in and followed the perpetrator. After a short scramble, in which the witness plunged to the ground, he managed to get the jewelry back and hand it over to the seller.

The suspect then tried to escape again, but was stopped by other witnesses and the security personnel of a nearby supermarket. The police arrested him a little later. The witness sought, who hurried to support, is 30 to 40 years old, about 170 to 175 cm tall and described with dark skin color. He was probably accompanied by an approximately 8-year-old child and could have injured his hands in the incident.
