Focus on child safety: Police reveals dangerous defects!

The police in Kiel carried out strict controls on Tuesday as part of the nationwide traffic safety campaign "Safe.Mobil.leben" with the focus "Children in a glance". Around 260 vehicles were checked in a total of 13 control zones - around schools and kindergartens. The alarming result: Over 10 percent of the children were not sufficiently secured! Specifically, this affects 30 small passengers who either were not strapped down or did not sit in corresponding child seats.

In addition, 13 drivers carried out risky mobile phone use while driving. These violations now result in administrative offenses. Despite the serious situation, the measures found both the controlled road users as well as in uninvolved passers -by understanding and approval, since the police were able to successfully point out the important topic of child safety through personal conversations.
