Free bike coding in Söhrald: Protect your bike!

On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, the police station East offers a free bicycle coding campaign in front of the town hall in Söhrald-Wellerode from 12:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In this campaign, an individual number is engraved into the frame, which in the event of theft identifies the rightful owner and makes it difficult to resell the stolen wheel.

Participants must have an ID document and proof of ownership for their bike. Important: Carbon and bamboo frames cannot be encoded, and e-bike owners should carry the key to the battery. In recent wheels, the coding could also have the manufacturer's guarantee expired, which is why citizens are encouraged to clarify this with their bicycle manufacturer beforehand.
