A 69-year-old man from Husum has become the victim of a perfidious "Love Scammering" fraud and has lost a high five-digit amount in two years! The scam began in 2023 when the pensioner contacted a supposedly woman via a dating platform that was supposedly interested in him. An online relationship developed through a messenger service in which the fraudster repeatedly came up with absurd sound claims.

Despite numerous PayPal transfers in several four to five-digit amounts, attentive bank employees were able to prevent further transfers! The police urgently warns against sending money to people who have never been met personally. Affected people should be skeptical, cannot be put under pressure and contact the police if in doubt. Important advice: secure all chats and emails-that could be crucial evidence!
