A dramatic accident caused excitement on the A1 on Monday morning: a truck from Trier collided several times with the guardrail and finally ended up in the track bed of the Saarbahn. The 63-year-old driver, who had overturned with his tractor and was caught in his cab, could not be saved immediately because dangerous overhead lines were nearby.

only after the arrival of Saarbahn specialists who earthed and switched off the lines, did the emergency services succeed in recovering the driver in a slightly injured state. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital. The causes of the shocking incident are currently unclear and the investigation is in full swing.
