Massive forces in Krefeld: Great fire and storm demand help!

In the afternoon of May 31, 2025, the Krefeld fire brigade was alerted to a devastating fire in the workshop of a vehicle operation at the Dießemer Bruch at 3 p.m. A massive column of smoke caused a rush of emergency calls. Up to 120 emergency services from the professional and volunteer fire brigade were on site to combat the fire and ensure the basic protection of the city. The operation lasted until the evening.

Shortly after 10 p.m., violent storms followed by Krefeld, which caused massive damage with storm gusts, heavy rain and hail. More than 600 emergency calls reported fully run basement, fallen trees and blocked streets in the districts of Lindenthal-Gatherhof, Stadtmitte, Cracau, Dießem, Bockum and Oppum. The city of Krefeld mobilized all available forces to process over 250 points of operation. A total of around 400 emergency services, supported by helpers from neighboring regions, worked well into the afternoon of June 1, 2025. The city of Krefeld expresses its thanks to everyone involved who helped to remove the damage.
