Essen, Deutschland - The federal police imposed a strict ban on dangerous objects at the main train stations in Essen and Recklinghausen! From June 7th to 9th, 2025, travelers are not allowed to carry weapons, knives or irritants there. Violations of this regulation are punished with references, station restrictions or even with a penalty payment of up to 200 euros!

This is a reaction to the repeated conflicts that often occur under the influence of alcohol and drugs in these heavily frequented train stations. Recently, the officials already secured a large number of dangerous objects, including different knives and even drugs. The Federal Police announced that it is increasingly carrying out controls during the ban to ensure the safety of travelers.
