On Saturday afternoon, May 31, 2025, a motor boat with two people on board on the Rüdesheim fairway came into trouble. Probably due to the lack of local knowledge, the boat drove into the shallows of the Rüdesheim sand threshold at Rhein-KM 525,500 and damaged its propeller. Fortunately, the two occupants remained unharmed.

The Rüdesheim water protection police quickly intervened and dragged the maneuver -incapable boat safely into the Rüdesheim harbor. Another incident that could have gone worse was averted.
