Clausthal-Zellerfeld, Deutschland - hikers made a shocking find on May 8, 2024 in the Oberharz near Clausthal-Zellerfeld: a skeletonized human skull! They immediately informed the police, who then started extensive searches to find further skeletal parts - but without success.

The Goslar criminal police are now certainty: DNA was secured by the skull during a forensic medical examination in the Hannover Medical School. A comparison with databases from the State Criminal Police Office showed that it was the skull of a 65-year-old man from Wildemann, who has been missing since spring 2023. A tragic case that now brings sad clarity.
