On May 24, 2025, a body was discovered in the Mittelland Canal in the Wendschott district, which was identified as the missing person, after a call for help from the Gifhorn police on May 22nd. Despite intensive investigations, there are no signs of third -party debt. The police therefore withdraw the public investigation.
