Seevetal-Maschen, Deutschland - On May 27, 2025, the large move of the Autobahn Police Commissioner Winsen (Luhe) to the new department in Seevetal-Maschen. With this step, the facility gets the new name "Autobahn Police Commissioner Maschen". Over 40 employees under the direction of the first chief police chief Oliver Kues are happy about more than 400 square meters of the most modern work area that serves as an extension to the Seevetal police commissioner, which has existed since 2019.

Police President Thomas Ring describes the new commissioner as a "profit for the motorway police and all road users". Due to the shortened paths to missions, it is expected that security on the busy motorways around the Maschener Kreuz will increase significantly. With its 112 double kilometers, 16 junctions as well as the central traffic hubs Maschener Kreuz, Buchholzer Dreieck and Horster Dreieck, the Autobahn Police Commissioner Maschen covers the largest area of ​​responsibility of the Lüneburg police department.
