on Thursday evening, May 29, 2025, there was a serious pedelec accident in Weeze. A 21-year-old man ran over a red light tampel at the Twistedener Straße/Weller Landstrasse intersection and collided with a traffic light mast. The impact was violent and the young man suffered serious injuries. He was immediately taken to a hospital.

A breath alcohol test during the accident victim indicated a considerable alcoholization, which is why a blood sample was taken from him. The police investigations are underway to clarify the exact course of the accident.
