As part of the cross -border traffic safety campaign "Safe.Mobil.leben - Kinder anliche", the Euskirchen police carried out increased controls around schools and kindergartens on Tuesday. The focus was on speed controls in Zülpich and the review of so-called "parent taxis". The police urgently warned of the dangerous "dead corner" of large vehicles.

In order to raise awareness of this danger, a fire brigade member clearly demonstrated how easily a pedestrian can disappear in the dead angle of a truck. The motto "Dead angle - look around!" accompanied the action, with the help of VR glasses experienced how much the car driver's view is limited. The police emphasize: Attention and consideration are crucial to ensure the safety of the youngest in road traffic.
