Police holds shoplifting to brutal attack on passers -by!
A 33-year-old man was arrested in Märkischer Kreis on Thursday after trying to steal women's upper clothing from a shop on Knapper Strasse. At around 5 p.m., a passerby watched the thief T-shirts from a shopping cart. When the witness spoke to him, he received a punch in the face before the perpetrator fled. Thanks to the rapid reaction of the witness, the police were able to track down the suspect nearby. In his backpack, the officials also found allegedly stolen alcohol. The man has no permanent residence in Germany and was temporarily arrested.
Also on Thursday, around 1:20 p.m., an 82-year-old man was stolen the wallet on a supermarket car park on Kölner Strasse. An unknown person who spoke poorly German asked the senior for change before he noticed shortly afterwards that his wallet had disappeared. Despite an unsuccessful search of the parking lot and a subsequent search by the police, the perpetrator remained undetected. The senior then had his bank cards locked.
