Police Göttingen warns: Caution in rumors about strangers!

In Göttingen, alarming reports about alleged speeches of students through unknown people in social networks provide excitement. In the last few days, specific information has been in particular in messenger services and by leaflets that target a name mentioned by name. The Göttingen police immediately initiated investigations and emphasizes that there are currently no indications of criminal acts or specific dangers. There are no reports on attacks or harassment.

Nevertheless, the police advise caution and asks parents to take preventive measures. This includes the choice of well -lit routes for the way to school, the reconciliation of accompanying persons and the practice of all important security measures with the children. Suspicious observations should not be shared on social media, but should be reported directly to the police. In an emergency, the emergency call 110 can be used, while subsequent information is accepted under 0551 / 491-2115. Investigators will inform the public and schools immediately if new information arises.
