In a nightly control campaign, the police in Lahr looked at five restaurants. A total of six restaurants were inspected between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m., with 17 violations, including violations of the non -smoking protection law and the pricing regulation. The operators responsible are now facing administrative offense procedures.

The arrest of a 61-year-old man in a restaurant on Freiburger Strasse was particularly spectacular. When he saw the police officers, he hastily escaped and jumped into a nearby river. After a short persecution, the police were able to put him. He had no valid residence permit and was advertised due to an earlier violation of foreign law. At the request of the public prosecutor's office in Offenburg, he was transferred to an accelerated procedure, condemned and taken in deportation.
